There is probably a reason there is no wait to be seated (other than the pace of the host) during high season.
Not recommended (for brunch).
We will return soon.
Never even sat down to eat. My wife and I walked in and waited at the hostess station but no one ever came to seat us. It didn't appear to be overly busy, the hostess just never came. The bar tender certainly saw us. He looked at us a 1/2 dozen times but never said a word to us nor did he call anyone over. Even one of the waitresses saw us but we were never acknowledged by anyone so we left and went across the street to Nolans Brick Oven Bistro. I can not remember the last time I walked into an establishment and was completely ignored. If I could give a negative star I certainly would.
The brunch bar has marginal variety (for example a bowl of green salad and a fruit salad bowl, not other salad variations/cold vegetables, fruit, yogurt etc.), even so the limited choices are pretty good. It also looks sparse because it is so spread out, which has an advantage that not everyone is circulating on top of each other. Unfortunately some items ran out and were not replaced. Today was the last time for brunch for us there ever. We may return some day - and order from the menu instead.
We waited for ever to be seated, even though it was not busy, (the couple behind us almost walked out). A server had finally located the host - who was apparently hiding in the kitchen. I think the staff try - but seem to lack management supervision/coordination. Perhaps there was no manager today. We had to have the carver and the omelet person searched for and located so we could place our order.
We have been here a number of times over the years. Tends to be hit or miss, more often lately miss. I get the distinct feeling of a corporate environment (absent ownership/management) where no one seems to care. Today for brunch our server was a delight, but not much else. Perhaps it was an off day.
Great atmosphere, good selection of local beers both in bottle and on tap, and fantastic New England clam chowder!
For Wolfeboro it is the best quality without breaking the bank. We find the town to be overpriced anyway, but we like the tavern here.
Good food and drinks. Friendly staff. A bit noisy but not uncomfortable. I'd return.
He like the local beer choices and I like the stiff mixed drinks, the strongest in town.
Food is consistently good, as well as the selection. Both my boyfriend and I can choose many things on the menu each time we come.
